Launching of Project SURE

      The existence of San Mateo National High School-Guinayang Annex is another struggle for accessible education, thereby making education closer to the young ones of San Mateo District particularly those residents of Barangay Guinayang, Maly and Malanday. Thus, the creation of another pillar of educating the youth calls the need of helping students with reading difficulties. On consideration of students with reading difficulties, a reading program entitled Project SURE which stands for Students Urging for Reading Enhancement will be launched this School Year 2011-2012. Through this, the school aims to achieve higher increase in student achievement and to heighten their reading interests which at the same time promoting the buddy-buddy system of coaching or the so-called Peer Tutoring.

             The school on its starting point has been trying its best to address the different needs of the students despite difficulties of getting things started. Nevertheless, the sense of commitment and dedication has been embraced by teachers and non- teaching staff.
